Friends, family, and colleagues of Pamela Hart-Garcia gathered Tuesday morning to dedicate the Yearbook Room on Raymond Hall to the beloved teacher’s memory.
Local mural artist Adrian Moss has spent the last weeks decorating the walls surrounding the classroom with images that reflect Ms. Hart-Garcia’s personality and passions.
Staff members took turns explaining the various components to the crowd. From jalapeno cornbread to yellow labs to award-winning chili, each image connects to a treasured memory.
Hart-Garcia– or HG to her students– lost her battle with cancer in May, 2023. A fixture at EC, HG tirelessly fought for her students, taught English, photographed countless events, and produced the Kowetian Yearbook for more than a decade. “She was just always here,” said co-worker and current Yearbook Sponsor Kelly Jackson, “She was the one behind the lens.”

HG’s family members in attendance also had to the opportunity to see the art installation and plaque dedicated to HG by the Class of 2024 on her former hallway. EC students should make their way to Raymond Hall to see two beautiful and poignant tributes to a much-missed and well-loved member of the Indian family.
