K9’s Much-Deserved Retirement

On October 9th, an esteemed Indiana police K9 unit, with a long 8 years of service, retired after taking a bullet to save his owner. Apache, the police dog, seized half a ton of drugs, 187 guns, and caught 84 criminals in his career. “Apache will now enjoy his retirement at home with the Butt family,” police said, “Thank you for your service Apache!”

Hurricane Helene’s Tragic Aftermath

A North Carolina man lost 11 family members to Hurricane Helene’s aftermath. Extreme flooding and horrid weather caused a mudslide that wiped out multiple homes in his hometown of Fairview, causing his mother, father, aunt, uncle, great-aunt, great-uncle, cousins and second cousins, among others caught in the devastating 230-kill count.

Scare in the Air

Turkish Flight 204, traveling from Seattle to Istanbul, was forced to divert to New York after Capt. İlçehin Pehlivan, lost consciousness during the route. The 59-year-old pilot had no previous health concerns before flying, leading to a mystery as to why he died so spontaneously. The pilot was pronounced dead before landing in New York by the co-pilot.

Retro Branding Update

Mountain Dew’s signature logo is going back to its roots in the upcoming 2025 design, featuring the word “mountain” after almost 20 years without its presence.

The 2009 redesign gave off cues of “energy” and “sharpness,” Mauro Porcini, senior vice president and chief design officer at PepsiCo, remarks. They decided to bring it back to the more refreshing side of beverages than the now long known “amp.” The redesign includes similarities to its older 90s design but invokes a more modern feel.
