Many fans across the globe have been anticipating the sequel to the iconic Moana movie for eight years! Fans cannot wait to see what new adventures await Moana.
Moana was a very profitable movie for Disney resulting in 643 million dollars income from the movie. “Numbers that an original Disney animated film (not from Pixar) hasn’t seen since,” says an account from Rotten Tomatoes, a movie rating site. With this great success, Disney was tasked with making a sequel as good as the first movie.
Movie theaters were packed with many fans last weekend awaiting the return of Moana and Maui. Set prior to this movie, Moana has just restored the heart of Te Fiti; however, she has a new problem on her hands. Moana has to reunite the people of the ocean by being the first human to set foot on Motufetu, an island guarded by the vicious god Nalo. In this new movie we are introduced to Simea, Moana’s younger sister, and five more crucial characters to this movie: Loto, Moni, and Kele. These are the people who will help Moana along the way to Motufetu.
Moana faces many challenges along the way to the hidden island and faces an old enemy from the first movie, the kakamora. These little coconuts meet Moana along the way to Motufetu. After her encounter with these feisty coconuts, Moana and her crew get sucked into a magical clam where she meets the other villain of this story: Matangi, a bat lady who has been trapped in this clam for many years. In the end Moana escapes safely with one more crew member, Maui! Next they make a treacherous journey to the lost island.
Overall this movie contains action, emotion, and, of course, great music! I would give this family-friendly movie a 5/5!
